Washington Butler was a native Puyallup Washington was always interested in the arts. She was a contestant in singing contests she performed in the school's theater program and sang in choruses. After that, she relocated to Los Angeles and studied theatre at the University of Southern California. For a year and an half, she played Belle the princess of Beauty and the Beast. After college, she and set her sights on getting an agent for talent and started casting for roles in TV and film. Butler guest starred in the TV show CSI: Miami. The web-based show Luke 11-17, which was directed by Don Stark, featured her in a role. Butler was also a regular guest for the web series I Love Vampires. Butler was chosen to play the lead character on I Spit on Your Grave (a remake) in 2010, a revenge film and sexual assault thriller. Though initially, she wasn't a fan of the film's brutality and sexual violence, she came to accept the storyline's feminist tone and strong character. Butler played Jennifer Hills who, after being brutally attacked in a forest cabin and sexually assaulted by a gang, vows to take revenge on the perpetrators. Steven R. Monroe, director of the film, made it available on the 8th of October the 8th of October, 2010. Butler started filming The Stranger Within (a psychological thriller) in Spain, Mallorca along with Estella Ward and William Baldwin back in November 2011. Alongside New York City and Copenhagen, the film was scheduled to shoot at Copenhagen Denmark. She also was part of the cast of Treachery which was a film starring Michael Biehn. The independent feature film began filming at Los Angeles in early 2012. Butler appeared involved in The Demented (2013), which was directed by Michael Welch with Kayla and Michael Welch.
